I'm a photographer capturing families, children and couples throughout Melbourne and surrounds.

Originally from Perth, I came to Melbourne via London, studied Media and happily worked in radio for 6 years.  My growing interest in photography had been, until then, just a small seed. It started to flower in early 2007 but exploded into full-bloom after my son was born in 2008. I had tried many things in the search for my language but when the planets aligned and Shannon McDonald Photography was born I discovered that something more. That elusive thing that I want to do for the rest of my life. Yeah baby!  Yeah     

Being a mother adds a special dimension to my family photography because I understand the often bewildering ride of parenthood including the tears, tantrums, joy, laughter and everything in between. And I often see all this and more on a one-hour shoot!

I married the love of my life and we have a beautiful son (nickname Boo) and a pretty kitty. Yep, my homefires are burning bright.
